Let’s reveal some more designers of the IDENTITY DRESS 2015! Three very different approaches to fashion that will assure a diverse experience of a dress: Dóra Mojzes, Ece Ozalp, and Eleftheria Arapoglou.
We present you the next three partaking designers at the 3rd edition of IDENTITY DRESS. All young, ambitious, talented, and based in the Netherlands: Jolka Wiens, Judith van Vliet and Nikki Duijst.
It is time to announce some more designers who are about to create their own IDENTITY DRESS for the 3rd edition of the project: Dajana Ljubičić, Yong Kyun Shin, and Stefán Orschel-Read, internationally recognised talents of the new generation.
Ana Ljubinković’s name was no stranger to me. In fact, as a buyer I had come across her work that got me right at the first glance. Her dramatic yet playful use of colours, shapes and details felt intriguing. I never got to meet her in person, but I must tell I admire her path so far and her approach to fashion, in a limited market, in a limited industry. To me Ana represents the fighter, she knows why she is here to design for; without compromising her ideals and visions she manages to break through in her region and domain.
As the 3rd edition of IDENTITY DRESS is getting closer every day, we would like to share with you the first three among designers taking part this year. Alongside those who will create their own IDENTITY DRESS are: Leandro Cano, Yojiro Kake and Derek Lawlor.
When thinking of what to write about in my first article on this website (which later didn’t turn out to be my actual first one), I realised one could simply talk about the project itself and explain IDENTITY DRESS through all forms. But to present it through the eye of the participant might be the most interesting one. More…

I met Nika Ravnik, Ljubljana based designer of niOka at the first edition of IDENTITY DRESS back in October 2013. To be more precise we were both part of the selection and happened to sit in front of each other at the welcome lunch that the IDENTITY DRESS team had organised for us. Her friendliness and simplicity struck me right away; when she talked to me she had a huge smile and we started chatting and getting to know each other over the meal.
It is official! The 3rd edition of IDENTITY DRESS project goes independent!
IDENTITY DRESS 2015 exhibition with its opening show will take place on 19 November 2015 at the National Museum of Slovenia, Ljubljana, and will stay there until 13 December 2015.
The success of the first edition of IDENTITY DRESS, an enthusiastic creative experiment with a diverse palette of international design talents involved, indicated a great potential of the concept. Keeping the coherence of the basic idea, the second edition of IDENTITY DRESS was brought to life as one of the major program components of the international festival for creative industries Month of Design Ljubljana 2014 (Ljubljana, Slovenia, EU). One basic dress pattern cut, many interpretations! The exhibition with its opening show was undoubtedly a true fashion-related highlight in the region.

What does it mean to be constrained within outside imposed boundaries?
Life is unpredictable. We are living amongst an ecosystem with trillions of components in which we are constantly exposed to an almost infinite number of outside factors that can just happen in a second and transform the rest of our life forever, by sometimes changing the course to somehow very drastic angles and directions.
