Today, Wednesday, April the 13th seems like a great start for LJFW – Ljubljana Fashion Week as the almost summer like temperatures liven up the mood and set a long awaited anticipation to rest with today’s opening. Moving from last year’s location on Kongresni trg to a brand new space, Trg republike, is most exciting as the possibilities for providing an unforgettable experience are made.
We are honoured to say the LJFW also partnered up with our team on the 3rd edition of the IDENTITY DRESS exhibition back in 2015. Additionally, we are very proud to say that among over 20 designers presenting at this year’s LJFW, many collaborated with the ID family as well in the past; gracing the runway with their designs are: Nika Ravnik of niOka, Sara Valenci and Timotej Bistan both designing for Young@Squat, David Bacali, Matic Veler, plus Loredana Bahorić (Charlie Design) and Ece Ozalp under the wing of Pentlja Concept Store, as well as the masterminds behind IDENTITY DRESS – Eric Maj Potočnik and Matjaž Plošinjak with their brand Eric Matyash.
Besides the mentioned the following designers and brands will also showcase their new collections at LJFW: Almira Sadar, Ana Jelinič, Urška and Tomaž Draž (Draž), Mateja Štimac and Milena Eber Štimac (EBER krznarstvo), Janja Videc, Maja Ferme (MAJA FERME fashion), Maja Štamol Drolc (Maja Štamol), Miro Mišljen (MiroMisljen), Tatjana Kalamar Morales (MORRO sartoriale), Nataša Peršuh (Natasa Persuh), Mojca Celin (PRINCIP), Sanija Reja (Sanija Reja Aske), Simona Lampe, Mija Curk and Boštjan Mijač (Sofia Nogard), and Barbara Krmelj, Maja Leskovšek, Barbara Vrbančič all at Young@Squat. Enriching the experience will be designers from Croatia and Serbia including Katarina Andrejić, Svetlana Jaćović, Dejan Popović (Serbia) and MAIO (Croatia). Traditionally joining us will also be the students from the Chair of Textile and Fashion Design from the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
The IDENTITY DRESS team is excited to cover the entire festival on our online platform, so stay tuned for our report following next week exposing highlights of the LJFW. And don’t forget to follow the program of the festival!
